Colby Clinton Hayes is our beloved son and brother to his sister, Emily. He brought so much joy to our lives before he died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 13, 2006 at the age of 26. This site is dedicated to his memory.

Why Colby1728? The number 1728 refers to the Bible verse found in Acts 17:28. It was Colby’s life verse and says “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being…” Simply stated, we have no fullness in life apart from Jesus Christ.

Colby was an amazing young man in ways that we did not fully realize until after his death. So many things have been revealed to us – through people we never knew as well as the writings he kept in his journal. We are so thankful for this journal along with other audio and video material that he left…and that’s the reason for this website – to share his journal with you. We’ve been told that he shared it openly with his friends so we’re confident that he would have wanted it this way.

This journal is not a typical daily diary. It is the account of the prayers of a young man who was not perfect, but a man who was determined to know God on a deep, personal, and intimate level. We miss Colby more than words can express but we are comforted in knowing that he is in heaven, right now, with his Father God.
